The Jon Diesel Difference

I was born and raised in the Sarasota-Bradenton area and have been working in the marine diesel industry for 18 years. I began working on diesel marine engines at the age of 18 for Darrel’s Mobile Marine, where I spent three years working on every kind of early-model marine diesel. After that, I worked for a yacht maintenance company as their mechanic for seven years while maintaining all styles of yachts and the mechanical systems.

During that time, I also traveled all over the east coast of the US as a mate delivering boats on occasion for my employer, Captains Maintained Yacht Services. It was then that I learned how to maintain every aspect of a yacht - from their A.C. Systems to waterproofing, to engine maintenance and service. This included operating large vessels for monthly exercising. I then got a job offer to work for a local Volvo Penta dealer where I learned everything there was to know about the Volvo Penta brand engines and drive systems.
 

During my time with Volvo, I began performing Marine Diesel Engine Surveys with through engine inspections. This is an area I’ve always had an interest in - and growing up around yachts, I’ve seen many. I continued to perform engine surveys with much success for Volvo while also getting certified from Volvo. I stayed with Volvo for six years before deciding to start my own business.

I started Jon Diesel LLC to pursue my dream of having a marine diesel service, engine survey & repair company, I have been in business since 2017 with much success and I'm still growing today. I’ve been all over the state of Florida and throughout the Bahamas and Caicos Islands traveling to build and fulfill my dreams in life and business.
